Kian's First Hadley's Milkshake

On our way back from visiting friends in Palm Springs, we made the obligatory Hadley's stop. It was Kian's first time!

Of course, we had to let him try a banana-date milkshake. It seems we may have created a monster....

Kian liked it so much that we were afraid he would get brain-freeze. He downed about a third of it before we could pry it from his grasp - and then he was furious! Naysan eventually had to hide in another part of the store and finish it where Kian couldn't see him. Poor Kian!
Kian was mostly a trooper on the way back, but even super-babies have their limits. His was about Francisquito / Puente Ave. We are all trying to supress the memory, so I'll just leave it at that.
This Palm Springs visitors' magazine did help buy us some time though:

Based on Kian's interest in this magazine, Naysan's dreams of a future career for him in professional golf will live on!

Zimmer Children's Museum

Inspired by our fun at the Montery Children's Museum, we decided to check out the Zimmer Children's Museum here in LA.
As you can see, we really liked the plane - but there are lots of other fun things to see and do there as well.

Here I am as Kian's Co-Pilot for a "flight":
Naysan got to take turn as Co-Pilot too:

And finally, this "flight" was a kids-only crew (with one adult passenger)!:

FUN!

Having Fun Around the House

Kian enjoys spending time around the house, too.

He loves it when his Grandmother Floria, Farhad and Ameen come to visit!

He loves horsing around and playing with his toys and cuddling with his blanket!

He loves playing with his daddy's guitar and having fun with his parents!

And he loves his kitty!

Labor Day in Monterey!

Kian, Auntie Jess and I spent a fun labor day weekend with Nana Fish and Ray in Monterey. We went on a different outing every day!

The first day, we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Kian had gone once before when he was only 3 months old, but now that he is almost a year and a half he was able to enjoy it on a new level. He really got into the kids' room exhibit that features different marine animals and the noises they make.

Here he is pushing the button to hear an elephant seal howl:

He thought it was hilarious!
And here he is looking at sea horses with his Nana Fish....

They were beautiful!

Kian also enjoyed riding on his grandmother's shoulders....

.... and he was fascinated by the big aquarium that has sharks and tuna and other large fish. He stood in front of the massive wall of water and pointed at the massive tuna that darted past, dwarfing him, exclaiming "wha daht!?" Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of that.....
Afterward we went outside and had a look at the view. Kian wanted to chase the seagulls! Too bad he doesn't get any attention from his grandmother or auntie:

The next day we went to a Children's Museum. The have a fun area especially for the littler kids that has a water bed ocean with a little boat on it, and a slide that goes into the "water".

Kian took us for rides in the boat, and enjoyed the slide!

Then his grandmother read him a story about an otter's dinner:

The Children's Museum also had a lot of other fun stuff. The little play house was a big hit. Kian especially loved banging the metal plates and pots together, and taking lids off and on:

On our last full day, we took Kian to the beach. He loved it!

Jessica took some more pictures of him getting crazy in the water; hopefully I'll be able to get copies so I can add them to the story.

One of the things that really made the trip so much easier and more enjoyable was that Mom flew us up. It was a real help for me, and gave us more time to enjoy being there - it really made the trip possible. Kian also had a great time looking at other planes on the tarmac, reading the safety information and pressing buttons!

Thank you Nana Fish!
